BYD's Szeged plant in Hungary is accelerating its timeline. Management has set a clear goal: officially start mass production in the third quarter and reach full capacity within sixmonths. The factory has been undergoing trial production since January, with equipment and processes being fine-tuned. Now, the pace has visibly quickened. During an interview with the BBC at the Beijing Auto Show, StellaLi was very direct: "Our problem right now is not a lack of demand, but that our production capacity cannot keepup. Market demand far exceeds our delivery capabilities." BYD is clearly in a hurry to get thisEuropean production base up and running.
